Sustainably produced in Portugal with premium bamboo
Pavone Lingerie stands for sustainable production. We regularly receive questions about both the environmental and human aspects of our production processes and we completely understand that. Unfortunately, bamboo viscose is not produced responsibly everywhere, which is why we consciously choose transparency and accountability.
Our lingerie is produced in Portugal in collaboration with certified family-owned businesses, small-scale ateliers where craftsmanship and quality are at the heart of everything and where fair working conditions and ethical production are never compromised.
We work with fabrics that are carefully selected for quality and comfort. That is why our fabric is made from 95% of the purest and highest-quality bamboo fibres. Bamboo feels exceptionally soft on the skin, is breathable, and is praised for its comfortable properties.
Bamboo contains cellulose fibres. To extract these fibres from the bamboo stalk, there are two methods: a mechanical method, where the bamboo is crushed to release the fibres, and a chemical method. In the latter process, the bamboo is treated so that the fibres become softer and finer, and the softness we use in our lingerie can only be achieved through this process.
The production of soft bamboo viscose therefore always involves the use of chemicals. If these are not handled responsibly, the process can be highly harmful to the environment. That is why we strictly monitor our suppliers. If a producer does not meet our standards, we take immediate action. Pavone regularly visits its producers to ensure processes remain controlled and to guarantee that both people and the environment are treated with care.
In addition, we combine our bamboo fabric with refined lace, carefully selected and crafted with great attention to detail. Every element is thoughtfully designed so that elegance and comfort come together perfectly.
Pavone Lingerie is also OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified. This is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances. When a product carries the STANDARD 100 label, it means every component, from yarns to accessories, has been independently tested and proven safe for human health.
