Behind Pavone Lingerie is designer and founder Janneke Schellekens, driven by a personal mission to create lingerie that combines beauty, comfort, and confidence.

Over the years, Janneke lived in various places across Europe and South America. Especially her time in Italy sparked her love for fashion, craftsmanship, and refinement. There she discovered that clothing is much more than something you wear: it can make you feel who you are and boost your confidence.

With that conviction, Janneke started at the fashion academy in Amsterdam. At the same time, she laid the foundation for Pavone Lingerie. During her studies, she developed her vision of sustainable lingerie where aesthetics, comfort, and quality go hand in hand. After graduating as a Fashion Designer, Pavone grew into the brand where her craftsmanship, personal experiences, and values come together.

The name Pavone is Italian for peacock. The peacock symbolizes beauty, elegance, strength, and pride. For Janneke, this represents more than a beautiful image. It serves as a reminder that you may show yourself as you are, even when life has challenged or changed you.

This idea forms the basis of her designs. Janneke has experienced sexual violence in her life and also lives with a chronic vulvar condition. Both experiences have deeply influenced her relationship with her body, femininity, and self-image. From her own recovery process and search for comfortable, supportive underwear, the desire arose to design lingerie that not only looks beautiful but also offers safety, comfort, and softness. Lingerie that helps women reconnect with their bodies with love, respect, and trust.

As a designer, Janneke sets high standards. She works with a dedicated team of professionals who strive daily for the highest quality without compromising on fit, comfort, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

In 2019, she launched her first collection for women. Since then, Pavone Lingerie has grown into an internationally worn brand. Based on her own experiences, Janneke also developed a specialized lingerie line for women with chronic vulvar conditions. Pavone now works closely with foundations, clinics, and specialists in pelvic care, gynecology, urology, and dermatology.

The development of Pavone never stands still. Janneke continues to work on innovative products and collections that contribute to more comfort, confidence, and quality of life. Her mission goes beyond lingerie alone. She wants to break taboos around issues such as urinary incontinence, Lichen Sclerosus, vulvar Lichen Planus, vulvodynia, and vulvar cancer. Pavone Lingerie stands for softness and strength, for femininity in all its forms, and for the right to feel comfortable, beautiful, and free in your own body.
