Pavone’s bamboo women’s underwear is ideal for women with vulvar Lichen Planus, as it features a breathable, leak-proof gusset made of 95% pure bamboo. This fabric feels silky, absorbs moisture, is hypoallergenic, and stays comfortably dry. The underwear provides excellent wearing comfort and can help reduce flare-ups of the condition.

Women under specialist care for Lichen Planus are often advised to use corticosteroid and oil-based ointments. Unfortunately, these ointments can stain clothing, which often leads women to use panty liners. Since most liners are made of polyester, they can trap heat and worsen symptoms. Pavone underwear offers three-layer protection made from multiple bamboo layers, with bamboo fleece in direct contact with the skin. It absorbs quickly, is hypoallergenic, and is made of 95% pure bamboo. The products are extensively tested by women with vulvar Lichen Planus.

If the underwear becomes saturated from ointments, we recommend soaking it overnight in soda crystals and washing every three weeks at 60°C with a spin speed of 800 rpm. During washing, adding a cup of natural vinegar to the fabric softener compartment can replace regular softener. Vinegar helps maintain colors, remove stains, reduce odors, and prevent skin irritation.

Pavone Lingerie designs its underwear in-house and tests it thoroughly with women affected by Lichen Planus. The most popular models are Maxi Giorgia, Midi Aurora, Taille Comfort, Midi Comfort, Bikeshort Sienna, and Basic Giulia. Pavone collaborates closely with the Lichen Sclerosus Network, Vulvodynia, and Lichen Planus Foundation, which recommends the use of Pavone underwear. In partnership with the Support Network, Pavone offers a 25% discount code: LSSN

Lichen Planus is a non-contagious, inflammatory condition affecting the skin, nails, and mucous membranes, including the vulva, vagina, and penis. It typically appears as flat, shiny, itchy red to light purple bumps on the skin, often with a fine network of white lines. The exact cause is unknown, but it is believed to be an autoimmune disorder.

Symptoms of vulvar Lichen Planus include pain, itching, and the Koebner phenomenon, where new lesions appear at sites of skin injury. Vaginal narrowing may also occur. Visible signs can include shrinkage or disappearance of the inner labia, red discoloration and bleeding from vaginal mucosa, and shiny, itchy, red to light purple flat bumps with fine white lines on the vulva.

Lichen Planus should be treated by a physician experienced with the condition, who can diagnose it through medical history and examination. A biopsy may be performed if there is uncertainty. Vulvar and vaginal Lichen Planus is usually chronic and can be difficult to treat. Strong corticosteroid ointments typically provide relief, and in stubborn cases that do not respond sufficiently to topical treatment, oral anti-inflammatory medication may be considered, ideally in combination with ointments.
